WHAT'S COOL ABOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL? SUMMER CAMP

What’s Cool About Middle School? is a summer camp at Pacific Hills School for students entering 5th - 8th grade, designed to assist children in finding methods to make the transition to Middle School easier and more successful.

PHS Summer Camp

During this two-week program, campers learn ways to deal with increased responsibilities, to make educated choices, to communicate clearly, and to win the support, understanding, and guidance of the adults in their lives. Through teambuilding, students learn to make closer friends and to get along better with others, including their own family. The children engage in fun activities that teach lessons through sports, art projects, games, activities, and daily field trips, reinforcing day themes such as organization, following directions, communication, classroom etiquette, teambuilding and more!

The What’s Cool About Middle School? summer program is proud to be a National Schools of Character “Promising Practices” Award recipient for 2006. The Character Education Partnership selected this program to serve as a model for others across the country to possibly replicate and integrate into their character education initiatives.

SUMMER SCHOOL

Pacific Hills School offers summer school courses for both Pacific Hills students and students from other schools. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 2:00pm with a lunch break between 11:00-11:30am.

Summer school consists of two sessions; each session is the equivalent of one course semester and lasts for three weeks. A maximum of two semesters can be taken during the program. Courses are offered in English, Science, Math, Social Studies, Spanish and French.
